Streamlined Procedures for Vetting Planning Applications (November 2017)
In order to expedite the checking process, the streamlined procedures for vetting planning applications are set out as follows:
For simple cases e.g. applications in relation to ‘New Territories Exempted Houses’, temporary use/development not exceeding 5 years and renewal of permission for temporary use/development
- The Secretariat will complete vetting and issuance of notification letter to applicant informing him/her the irregularities spotted within 2 working days upon receipt of the application.
- Applicant will be given 3 working days to rectify the irregularities / provide supplementary information.
- A maximum of 1 working day, upon receipt of clarification / supplementary information, will be given to the Secretariat to vet and confirm if the information provided is adequate for acceptance of the application for further processing. If the information provided is not adequate or the applicant makes no response upon expiry of the deadline, the applicant will be notified that the application will not be further processed and the application form will be returned to the applicant.
For complicated cases
- The Secretariat will complete vetting and issuance of notification letter to applicant informing him/her the irregularities spotted within 3 working days upon receipt of the application.
- Applicant will be given 5 working days to rectify the irregularities / provide supplementary information.
- A maximum of 2 working days, upon receipt of clarification / supplementary information, will be given to the Secretariat to vet and confirm if the information provided is adequate. The remaining steps are the same as the simple cases.
