During the time in Foshan, the Foshan Natural Resources Bureau arranged a detailed briefing on and

a visit to the Thousand Lantern Lake Park System, which is a north-south continuous urban corridor
comprising commercial precinct, hotels, public parks, civic buildings and a museum connecting by a
system of lakes, grand canals, and water alleys to integrate the old town and the new developments
and provide active and passive waterfront open spaces. The delegation also had an overview of the
planning of the area reserved for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao High-end Services Demonstration
Zone, which aims to promote the co-operation among Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao with the
support of a comprehensive and efficient transportation network.
